We are selling our 2003 BMW in mint condition and very well kept. New brakes` Alpine stereo` subwoofer` black leather seats` wood paneling` sunroof` 49K miles` 2WD` automatic (steptronic)` 6 cyl` non-smoker.
We are the second owner of this car and had it for 3 years. Only recently` as we got an SUV and decided to sell the BMW` we discovered that the car was in an accident in 2006 and is reported as having a frame damage. Now that we know that` it explains why we had to change the control arm on it twice. It's not a major frame problem though` because we brought the car in for alignment several times and it was always fine. My guess is that there might be a slight dent in the frame that over the time somehow causes the control arm to loosen up. Mechanic who was referred to us by our insurance company told us it will cost $1700 to fix the problem.
